Michael Pollan's Series of Lectures at UC Berkeley
|Michael Pollan's lecture: "Eating Oil, Eating Sunshine"|
Super psyched to be taking a series of lectures with Michael Pollan – the journalism professor and writer of "Food Rules," "Second Nature," "A Place of My Own," "The Omnivore's Dilemma: A Natural History of Four Meals," "In Defense of Food: An Eater's Manifesto," "The Botany of Desire: A Plant's-Eye View of the World," and "Cooked: A Natural History of Transformation," which will be published in April by Penguin Press — this semester at UCB on "Edible Education: The Rise and Future of the Food Movement," and "How to Tell Stories About Food and Agriculture." Last May I spent a month learning Cooking and Culinary Traditions at a local CSK with ambitions of getting more serious that I already am in sustainable food activism with my writing, so this is my next step.
I hope to get a lot of inspiration and direction on how to educate more people on the atrocities of our current industrial food ways and how to get from where we are to more sustainable healthy ways. Very exciting...
